Successful Candidates can

  • Provide complete and reliable cost estimates that impact business decisions.
  • Work in a lead role in the management and execution of cost estimating tasks with clients in the national market.
  • Partner with other internal departments to estimate program and construction costs for complex projects.
  • Demonstrate ability to generate estimates in various stages of planning and design such as program, conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

 

Skills to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Minimum five years cost estimating experience in varied market segments.
  • Experience in the aviation market is preferred.
  • Ability to interface with Owners, Planners, Architects and Engineers.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to generate deliverable estimate reports. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Advanced proficiency in related estimating software programs, such as On Screen, Timberline. 
  • Strong organizational skills, the capability of reading architectural and engineering drawings, quantity take-offs and good conceptual aptitude are required.
  • Travel will be obligatory on occasion.
  • Candidate with a CCP, CPE or PE is preferred.
  • Security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain may be required.

SENIOR MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR 

LOCATION TBD

Multi-service construction consulting and management firm is seeking a motivated, detail oriented Mechanical and Electrical Estimator for a full-time position. Location to be determined. Candidate must be self-directed, including organizing and prioritizing workload necessary to meet deadlines, budget constraints, and client needs. Position requires cost estimates from conceptual/programmatic to construction phase. Candidate must have written communication skills necessary to generate the deliverable estimate reports. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum seven years commercial/industrial experience in varied market segments. Experience in the aviation market is preferred, but not required.
  • 4-year technical degree in construction, engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Candidate with construction experience is preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 or above programs including, but not limited to, Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to read architectural and engineering drawings, quantity take-offs and good conceptual aptitude are required.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Candidate with a CCC/CCE or CPE is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Resume should include listing of recent projects estimated; including phases of estimates prepared and level of accuracy, specifically outlining aviation experience.

Career Progression

  • Immediate total immersion in constructability review, quantity takeoff and  estimate, and project scheduling
  • Manage a project execution and budget within two years
  • Actively pursue Professional Engineer (PE) license within one year
  • Advance to a Project Manager within five years.
  • Identify career focus, interests, and direction and the support to achieve those goals

 

Skills to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university             
  • Experience interpreting civil, architectural and structural drawings
  • Experience with grading, paving, utilities, or building construction preferred
  • Working knowledge of computer aided design, such as On Screen, Timberline
  • Relevant work experience.  Co-op and intern experience is acceptable.
  • Security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain required
